\u201cThere are many types of wedding veil out there. The main choice for many is choosing between single or double tier. A single tier veil is possibly seen as the more modern choice – a sleek fall of tulle behind you.<\/em><\/p>

But I have found that orders for the two tier veil is definitely on the rise – I sew mine as what’s known as a ‘drop veil’ so the tulle is stitched flat, or with very little gather, to the comb. This avoids the volume of a traditional looking style which seems to put some people off veils before they’ve even tried them! Some brides opt for a two tier veil, not to necessarily wear over their face, but because they like the way it falls around their shoulders more than a single tier does. \u201cThe beauty of a bespoke veil means you can have any length. I work closely with my brides in advising them on the style and length that works with their dress and how they want to feel on the day. Some brides opt for a short fingertip length veil – these are especially great if you want to wear it for the entire day, dancing and all!<\/em><\/p>

Many opt for a long veil (you could always then wear one of my ribbons or bows for your evening look!). There is terminology such as ‘chapel’ and ‘cathedral’ but within these can fall many different measurements depending on designer. As all my brides are different heights and have different dresses and train lengths, we work together to decide on a bespoke veil length. I usually recommend a veil falls 8-10″ beyond the dress train (or more if a bride prefers) – especially for script veils so that the embroidery isn’t lost against the dress fabric.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cNo you don’t.\u00a0 If you want to wear a veil, we’ll make it happen! Hair stylists are experts in placing your veil in your chosen hair style. There are just a few things to bear in mind that’s all. For example, if you’ve chosen a low up do and want the veil falling from underneath it, my signature gold comb may not fit, so veil loops may be a better option to discuss with myself and your hair stylist.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

If you’d like to wear your hair down, a veil will need extra security, so it doesn’t slip out! There are a few tricks such as hidden backcombing at the crown of your head to give the veil something to grip too. \u201cThe options are endless … which can either make it tricky to know what to have, or the opposite … you want everything! I am always here to advise and make suggestions, but it is your veil and your bridal style. A simple starting point is having your names \/ initials and wedding date embroidered<\/span><\/a> on the centre bottom of your veil, or having your new married name discreetly embroidered on the left hand side near your fingertips – great for photo ops with your rings! The sky is the limit from there.<\/em><\/p>

My most popular veil design is the script<\/span><\/a> as it’s such a meaningful way to personalise your veil with lines from the couple\u2019s favourite song, a line from the bride\u2019s vows, or even just a saying that is special between them.<\/em><\/p>

I adore hearing the stories behind my brides’ chosen words.
